Back in the 70's, a young man, name of David Jones.. you might know him as David Bowie, started name dropping a band as an influence. The band was called "The Velvet Underground", and nobody had heard of them (except good ole Uncle John Peel).
So David produced an album for Lou Reed. And it was good. People start to check out a good few of the old albums. Suddenly, "The Velvet Underground & Nico" starts to become essential in all students record collections. And I, in 1990 fall madly in love with the music and poetry of Mr Lou Reed...
And here you are, I presume, to find out a little bit more, share experiences of your love for the musicians who shook up New York all those years ago, went on to take on the rest of the world, after their demise.
So on and so forth, if you follow those links at the side there.. you'll find a whole host of Velvets stuff. I hope you enjoy, email editor@thevelvetunderground.co.uk with any suggestions, complaints or general witterings about this site.
